A 3.6L Pentastar replacement must match the vehicle’s engine code, application, and equipment. Our team reviews the VIN, vehicle year, make, model, drivetrain, emissions package, and relevant accessories before confirming fitment.
ERB Applications
Options 1 and 2 are ERB-code listings. Choose the OEM spec or Fraser Advantage package after confirming your vehicle’s engine configuration.
Wrangler Package
Option 3 is specifically listed for 2012–2017 Jeep Wrangler ERB applications. It includes an oil pan and valve covers. Other Wrangler years require separate verification.
ERC / ERF / ERG
Option 4 covers individually verified ERC, ERF, or ERG applications. Engine codes and vehicle equipment must be matched; these codes do not establish universal interchangeability.

3.6L Pentastar Replacement Applications
Pentastar engines are used in a wide range of vehicles. These are examples of application families to discuss with Sales; they do not guarantee that a listed engine fits every year, trim, or configuration.
Jeep
Select Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Gladiator 3.6L applications. The fully loaded Wrangler package on this page is limited to the listed 2012–2017 ERB application.
Dodge
Select Charger, Challenger, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, and Avenger 3.6L applications. Confirm the exact engine code and vehicle specification.
Chrysler
Select 200, 300, Town & Country, and Pacifica 3.6L applications. Hybrid and other specialized configurations require separate verification.
Ram
Select Ram 1500, ProMaster, and C/V 3.6L applications. Confirm drivetrain, engine code, and any eTorque or commercial application requirements.

3.6L Pentastar Concerns to Review With Your Installer
Customers may begin considering a replacement after persistent ticking, misfires, overheating, oil leaks, or internal wear. A repair facility should diagnose the cause so the installation addresses related problems as well as the engine itself.
Valvetrain & Cylinder Heads
Rocker, lifter, and camshaft concerns may accompany ticking or top-end wear. All four options list remanufactured and updated cylinder heads; confirm the applicable updates for your build.
Oil Leaks & Cooling
Have the installer evaluate oil cooler housing leaks, coolant loss, and related components. External accessories are not automatically included with a replacement engine.
Timing & Internal Wear
All four listings include new timing components, pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, and seals. Review the complete component list for your selected package.

What is the difference between the OEM spec and Fraser Advantage ERB engines?
Option 1 is the OEM spec ERB remanufactured assembly at $4,199 with a 3-year / unlimited-mile parts and labor warranty. Option 2 is the Fraser Advantage ERB assembly at $4,799 with applicable TSB updates, a 5-year / unlimited-mile parts and labor warranty, and 1 year of No-Fault coverage included. Written warranty terms apply.
Which option is the fully loaded Wrangler engine?
Option 3, SKU FEF36WR-FL, is the $5,999 Wrangler package. It is listed for 2012–2017 Jeep Wrangler ERB-code applications only and includes the oil pan and valve covers. Final fitment must be verified by VIN.
Are ERB, ERC, ERF, and ERG engines interchangeable?
Do not assume interchangeability. Your engine code, vehicle year, drivetrain, equipment, and application must be confirmed. Option 4 is listed for individually verified ERC, ERF, or ERG applications; it is not a universal substitute for every Pentastar engine.
Does every engine include a 5-year warranty?
Option 1 includes a 3-year / unlimited-mile nationwide parts and labor warranty. Options 2, 3, and 4 include a 5-year / unlimited-mile nationwide parts and labor warranty plus 1 year of No-Fault coverage. Labor reimbursement, exclusions, installation eligibility, and claim requirements are governed by the written warranty terms.
Are all accessories shown in the pictures included?
Images are illustrative. Your selected option’s included-component list and confirmed order determine what is supplied. The Wrangler package specifically lists an oil pan and valve covers. Confirm oil cooler, intake, fuel system, wiring, sensors, and other external accessory requirements with Sales.
Can Fraser ship directly to my repair shop?
Yes. All four listings include free shipping and core pickup to qualifying commercial addresses in the continental United States. Residential delivery or additional services may carry charges. Sales confirms eligibility and shipping details before processing.
Do I need to return my old engine core?
Yes. No upfront core charge is available on eligible orders under Fraser’s core return program. It does not remove the requirement to return a qualifying core. Applicable waiver fees, core value, and return deadlines are confirmed in your order agreement.
When will my payment be charged?
Payment is not charged until your order is verbally verified. Complete the order form, then call 800-731-3177 and press 1 for Sales to confirm your VIN, engine selection, shipping details, and final total.
Does the warranty cover labor for a DIY installation?
DIY installations receive parts-only coverage. Professional installation eligibility and labor reimbursement are governed by Fraser’s written warranty terms.
Can I add No-Fault coverage or installation products?
Ask Sales about the No-Fault options, Premium Installation Kit, and Premium Engine Break-In Oil shown above. Options 2–4 already include 1 year of No-Fault coverage. Our team confirms any upgrades, eligibility, and final pricing before processing.
